Patrol car A-135 pulled out of the drive-thru and returned to the main street. Inside were Officers Gavin and Tony, both had decided to have a quick break so they could have a snack. Grabbing the takeaways, they were going to find a nice quiet spot in their neighbourhood and relax while stuffing there face… “Alpha one three five come in.” Both officers looked at the radio annoyed; typical thought Tony. Officer Gavin sighed before picking up the radio; “Alpha one three five reporting in over,” he said quickly. “911 call, your area, lone individual attacking a man and his wife, locate and arrest suspect.” “Roger that.” Seconds later, the car sped off following the directions to where the attack was taking place. Luckily the address was only a block away so they reached it under five minutes. They stopped outside the house, both cops clambering out of their vehicle. Readying their firearms they step down the path. The house looked quiet and peaceful; both cops knew that the quiet may mean something more ominous. “Hey, look at the bin!” said Tony, Gavin looked where his partner pointed, soon spotting the wheelie-bin that had been knocked over and a small splatter of blood on the concrete slabs. Softly they crept to where the bin lay. It was right next to the side of the house. The officers headed down the side of the house. Yards from the bin was another splatter of blood this time larger and with an accompanied bloody hand print. This doesn’t look good, Tony thought clutching his handgun. Reaching the back of the house, they were confused. The backyard was empty, but someone had stacked some chairs and a door in front of the backdoor. “That’s a poor excuse for a barricade.” Gavin had to agree with his partner. But right now they needed to get into the house to see if the occupants were all right. Tony approached the flimsy barricade noticing that the door had blood on it; he started clambering over the chairs. The experienced cop noticed the backdoor was slightly open so he attempted to push it open. Quickly the silence was shattered by a gunshot; the bullet caught Tony in the chest. The round tearing into his body even as it sent the unlucky cop flying away from the door. Shit, whoever is inside has a shotgun. Cursed Gavin as he crouched down, he glanced towards his partner. Tony was dead he had to be, the only consolation was he would have been dead before he hit the floor. “Stop! This is the police, lay down your weapons and come out with your hands up.” A shaky voice called out, saying they were coming out. The backdoor opened and a middle aged man came out dragging a woman with him. He looked like he was in a state of shock. His wife had a bandage on her left shoulder just by her neck, it was already nearly completely stained red with her blood. The man’s arms were covered in scratches and his wrist had a chunk missing. It looked like an animal attack… “Oh I’m sorry officer, I thought you was the loony that attacked my wife.” “What happened?” “My wife was putting the bin out when this tramp attacked her, he was digging his nails into her skin and bit her, she screamed so I came running I managed to get him off her, but he bit me instead. We managed to lock ourselves indoors and made a barricade to try and keep him out.” “Well, we need to get you two to the hospital…let me call an ambulance.” Gavin went straight to his car and got on the radio, he explained the situation, then went to check on the couple, tramps biting people? What the hell is that about? He kept thinking that even as the ambulance took the couple to the local hospital…
